Bring the whole family to enjoy an early evening of music, nature, and fun in Los Angeles’ most famous park! The Children’s Nature Institute and Faith2Green for Kid’s ROCK, will sponsor a free outdoor family concert, picnic dinner, and CNI Nature Fair, promising to be an early evening of great music, good food, and hands-on eco-activity at the historic Old Zoo picnic area at Griffith Park. Bring your own picnic dinner or purchase at the event.
Singer Tom Freund will perform songs from his children’s album, “Hug Trees.” With “Hug Trees” Tom brings his organic jazz and rootsy vibe to kids for the first time. “Hug Trees,” is an eco-friendly collection of songs, each of which focuses on getting children involved with their enviroment and enjoying nature. Whether gathering seashells, walking the dog or hugging a tree, Freund urges kids to get outside and keep it moving.
Renee And Jeremy are a musical duo who write and perform original music for the whole family. They will play selections from their newest release: “It’s a big world,” a collection of songs for all ages.
My Gym will present Aaron Nigel Smith and The Activators!
The Children’s Nature Center will host the CNI Nature Fair, a smaller version of their famous Nature Festival, traditionally held at Temescal Gateway Park. The Fair will feature activity and craft booths for kids of all ages. Kids will be able to dig for dino bones, make their own jewelry and even pet live animals!
