Movies and More in Hollywood

Make movie going in Hollywood an entire experience at El Capitan Theatre or Arclight Hollywood at the Cinerama Dome, where memorabilia and costume exhibits from the currently playing blockbuster is often made available for you to examine close up.  At El Capitan, there is always something else to do so if it isn’t props on display, its activities and special events. Right now your G-Force movie ticket will also get you two hours of enjoyment at the transformed former virgin megastore building across the street where the family can play games and participate in activities based on the movie.

Hollywood Wax Museum or Madame Tussauds?

Compare The Hollywood Wax Museum and Madame Tussauds

Celebrities immortalized in wax at two locations to serve you! The Hollywood Wax Museum and the recently-opened Madame Tussauds each offer something similar, yet there are differences. Compare the two and decide which one waxes your interest.

Hollywood Wax Museum or Madame Tussauds?

A mainstay in Hollywood for decades, the Hollywood Wax Museum does not seem phased by the arrival of the Cadillac of wax, Madame Tussauds. Both museums have their share of recognizable celebrities, but one of the main differences is the admission price. The Hollywood Wax Museum entrance fees are $12.95 for adults and $5.95 for kids age 5-12 whereas Madame Tussauds will set you back $22.50 for adults and $16.20 for kids age 4-12.

While both wax museums are open to all ages, a tip from the Hollywood Wax Museum staff reveals that kids ages 7 and under are innately freaked out by wax figures. So bear that in mind before dragging your teeny tot to the emporium of frozen people. Older, more prepared kids will be please to be greeted by the wizard of oz cast in the lobby, but start at the back end with kid friendly cowboys and Indian, ninja turtles and Spiderman. This will also allow you to bypass the horror chamber completely.

Madame Tussauds does not consider itself a museum, because of its interactive nature.  Unlike at other museums, guests can actually view the wax figures up close, touch them and take photos with them.  There are no velvet ropes or barriers between the guests and the figures.  The Madame Tussauds website will give you a good idea of who you can expect to see at their location.
