Join us on a fossil hunting adventure as we search for marine fossils with Lindsey Groves, the Museum’s Collection Manager of Malacology (mollusks). This rich fossil site is a great place to get some dirt under your fingernails. Learn how to record your fossils as Museum scientists do, and bring a bag for your best finds. Participants provide their own transportation. Limited to 30 participants.

Hey 3-5 year olds, this club’s for you. Sprout the seeds of knowledge and fun. Visit the Natural History Museum gardens where you will meet and release helpful bug friends. You will hear buggy stories and even get to take home your very own seedling! Critter Clubs are for 3-5 year olds and a participating adult. No reservations required; check in at the Dueling Dinosaurs just inside the main entrance. Events available on a first come, first served basis.

By the light of the glittery full moon, take a wonderous guided walk at Eaton Canyon Natural Area. Kids who aren’t afraid of the dark will always remember their moon walk with you. Meet at the reception desk inside the Natural Area. People are only allowed to be in the park at night with an approved program. Dress appropriately for the walk (no sandals, high heels, etc.) Bring water in unbreakable containers. Flashlights are not necessary. If bugs are a problem for you, bring or wear bug repellent. Moonlight Walks will be cancelled without notice if there is any rain or nighttime conditions are deemed to be unsafe.
